Anyway, believe it or not.. i had fun at Lake Toba, Medan.
Due to very organized plans by V& G, we were picked up at every point of arrival. I.e.: at the airport straight to a waiting 7 seaters (3-4 hrs), to a boat ride (1 hr), to a another 7 seaters (10-15min) to our destination. Thyesza/ Flowers of Samosir, Ambarita.
The view of the place was amazing.

The lake could be a little cleaner though. I got excited when i saw that they have books there, but they are all in French or some other foreign langauge. :( . Oh well, i still have my The Last Don by Mario Puzo with me :).
Our 4 days 3 nights stay there is more than enough to satisfy our curious mind about the surroundings. The day of arrival, we had our late lunch at around 4-5pm and then went straight to bed after making plans for tomorrow and planning to wake up at 8 or 9pm to have dinner. All of us slept the whole night through. Per night, the room is RPH150,000.00 with heater. (No fan or a/c in our room- but the night was surprisingly pleasant. Slept in a high bed with thick comforter). I literally felt like i was about to fall off everytime i'm getting out of my bed.

The water was cold, reminded me of how Ranau's water in the morning & night felt. It was also windy & cold at night. But the afternoon was scorching hot. We tried out the strenght of the sun on our 3rd day there by trekking from Ambarita to the Stone Chairs about 2km away.

When we went to the Batak Museum on our 2nd day trip, we tried the dance..

The rest of the time, we spent reading by the lake and soaking up the damaging sun rays. There's not much to do there, no canoe, no water sports, no massages, no manicure/ pedicure, not a lot of tourist. Tuk-tuk town has a lot more things going on (food, books).
All in all.. it was a very peaceful holiday for me.. a VERY stress free one.. which could loosely translate into boring. But it's not.! hehe.. the adrenaline rush is only the driving from Medan to Parapat & the return trip. My life flash through my eyes a couple of times then, when head on collision is close.
